BioSafe Panel Designs Modular double-wall powder-coated or 304/316 stainless steel panels form the backbone of the BioSafe Cleanroom, providing a freestanding, cleanable structure that converts any space into a particle-free, aseptic environment. Modular Hardwall Cleanrooms provide the rigidity and durability of a freestanding room. All components are factory-assembled and tested before shipping; the modular ceiling grid allows fan/filter configuration to meet ISO 5 – 8 requirements.
Unlike other modular cleanrooms on the market which require complex suspended ceiling supports, Terra Universal cleanrooms are completely free-standing structures.
Cleanroom Support Frame
The support frame is fabricated of interlocking 2″ (51 mm) powder-coated square steel uprights and cross sections. Ceiling members are welded to steel 3″ x 1.5″ (76 mm x 38 mm) T-bars, forming the 2′ x 4′ (610 mm x 1219 mm) bays that support filters and lights. Vertical finishing strips, fabricated of mirror-finished 304 stainless steel, hold hardwall panels securely in place. Standard height is 7′ (2134 mm) measured from filter face to floor (8’3″, 2530 mm, with filter/fan unit), allowing installation beneath a standard 9′ (2743 mm) ceiling. Other heights are available.
Hardwall Cleanroom Panels
Modular hardwall panels are cut in 4′-wide x 7′-high (1219 mm x 2134 mm) panels. Specify other desired height. They are available in three rigid materials:
Acrylic Panels offer full visibility and outstanding tensile strength. These economical panels are lightweight and easy to clean. Standard panels are clear, but black and amber panels are also available (tinted panels may extend lead time). Acrylic is not recommended for use with alcohol or other strong cleaning agents.
Static-Dissipative PVC Panels are recommended for the most contamination-sensitive applications because of their ability to control particles along with static charges. The friction created by a laminar airflow generates surface charges on nondissipative walls, which in turn attract and hold particles. Your cleanroom wall becomes a particle magnet!
Dissipative PVC safely conducts these surface charges to ground, protecting against potentially damaging ESD (electrostatic discharge) as well as particulate contamination. Dissipative layers are molecularly embedded for optimal durability. Surface resistivity: 106 – 108 ohms/sq. cm (ASTM-D257).
Polycarbonate resists many common acids, solvents and cleaning solutions. Its high tensile strength makes it shatter resistant.
Polypropylene provides superb resistance to acids and other chemicals.
Tempered Glass combines visual clarity with broad chemical resistance and non-porous surfaces for easy sterilization.

AirBlock softwalls are constructed from four-foot wide sheets of vinyl in thicknesses from 40 to 80 mil, RF welded to form either solid walls or movable curtains. They are especially suitable for enclosing portable frame systems or improving laminar flow areas above work spaces.

We can design 797 cleanrooms to meet the requirements of Chapter 800, requiring that some hazardous drugs are treated in negative pressure cleanrooms. The standard Airlock ceiling is a fully integrated 2” T-bar shipped in prefabricated modules. The modules come complete with gaskets and can accept standard 2′ x 4′ ceiling panels. Threaded rod suspenders support ceiling frames or struts from any existing structure for larger rooms of any size. Conventional Pharmacies that fill prescriptions by licensed pharmacists are governed under Section 503A of the Compounding Quality Act (in effect as of October 2014). Under 503A, state boards of pharmacy can continue to oversee and regulate pharmacy practices, including the compounding of sterile preparations. These compounding pharmacies will continue to be required to meet the guidelines set forth in USP 797.

Shutting the Door on Contamination
These Pass-Through Chambers cut down significantly on traffic and contamination by providing a better, safer way to transfer equipment and paperwork.
304 Stainless steel or powder-coated steel pass-throughs ensure clean operation. For especially stringent particle requirements, select an UltraClean™ electropolished 304 stainless steel pass-through.
Polypropylene and PVC models are suitable for chemical pass-through applications, and Static-Dissipative PVC models combine excellent chemical resistance with a surface resistivity of about 107 ohms/square for enhanced static and particle control. Each model features viewing windows of a compatible material.
Doors on either side are outfitted with a mechanical interlock that keeps personnel from passing particles through the chamber. This device allows only one door at a time to open, and thus the amount of air that can enter the cleanroom is restricted to a very small volume. The no-maintenance interlock has no power, gas, or other facility requirement, so it continues to operate when other systems shut down.

Air Showers and Tunnels supply concentrated Class 100 clean airflows to lift off contamination while an individual occupies the air enclosure. Whenever the shower cycle commences, pressurized air streams from adjustable nozzles at a velocity of up to 8,000 feet per minute (41 m/s). This ensures the necessary efficient scrubbing action to remove particulate matter.
Air nozzles are arranged on the walls and ceilings in a uniform pattern to ensure effective distribution of filtered air; the lowest nozzle is positioned 19″ (483 mm) off the floor. The closed-loop circulation design directs contaminated air downward through the vents and wall plenums of the Air Shower/Tunnel and back to the HEPA filter, which removes 99.97% of all particles as small as 0.3 microns.
Electromagnetic interlocking doors prevent unnecessary contamination inflow and thereby prevent cross-contamination of the cleanroom and the Air Shower/Tunnel. They automatically release in the event of a power failure or at the press of the emergency stop button to ensure operator safety. LED lighting, built into the ceiling to allow unimpeded air circulation, ensures full visibility no matter what size or configuration you select.
Touch-Screen Control Panel Enhances Convenience and Security. Each unit includes a solid-state microprocessor panel (located at the front entrance) that controls shower cycle durations and entrance/exit delay times. A Run Times feature is also included to help you set and maintain a filter-replacement schedule based on your maintenance protocol.
This system includes full microprocessor diagnostic capabilities, covering operation of the blower, door switch, and door lock.
